We used a lighter weight (60 weight) thread on the eyes for finer detail.
Hansel and Gretel didn't notice the sound at the window. An old woman was peering out and watching them with a smile on her face. She went to the door and opened it.
She invited them into the house, where she had a bountiful feast. The children ate and ate until they were full. Then the witch led them to a room with two small beds just their size.
While the children slept, the woman cackled to herself: for she was a witch, only pretending to be kind. She lived in the forest with her house made of candy in order to draw children inside, where she would fatten them up and then eat them.
