TECHNIQUE: 3D Appliqué. The top layer of petals and flower center are sewn in a previous hooping and then attached to the base design.
TECHNIQUE: Fringing/Looping. The fluffy yellow center of the rose is accomplished by trimming either the long bobbin thread on the back of the yellow stitches, or by trimming the outer ends of the long yellow threads on top. This is called "looping" or "fringing" technique. Each will give a slightly different result.
