This design is free standing lace, which means it needs to be sewn on a WOVEN water soluble stabilizer, DOUBLED in order to sew out properly. Polyster thread is recommended for this design. Color work can be done in Rayon. There are numerous thread jumps in these designs, which were put there on purpose. Each time your machine trims and restarts there is a chance of coming unthreaded. To mimimize, that jump stitches were added. It is recommended to trim after each color stop, either taking the hoop off the machine and trimming or trimming in the hoop. The size of this design is perfect to hang or put in a card. There is a color stop at the top of the stocking to allow for a ribbon to be sewn in so this can hang, or skip the ribbon if preferred.
