Hi Heather, I've had this design from the time it was $34.99 (I think) and it's beautiful. My only comment is that you have to REALLY pay attention to how you combine the 1-14 pieces so you don't mess up the pattern you are trying to achieve. My next issue was the final middle circle and I have to take all the stitches out and start that part over again. My hoop screw broke so I couldn't "hoop" the center and it was impossible for me to do it correctly without being in the hoop. I ordered a new hoop and it will arrive by January 7...I'll try that part over again and see how it goes when I have a new hoop to tighten in so make the circle.

Hi, Sharon. I'm glad you like this set but sorry you're having trouble with the middle circle. I checked with the design's creator for you, and she has the following suggestion for you:

"Create the entire outer ring of the topper just as the tutorial says. But instead of then sewing in the 12x12 piece and trimming and then hooping it all, I would hoop a piece of dissolvable stabilizer, spray and attach the back 12x12 fabric on the back and then the 12x12 batting and 12x12 front fabric on the front and embroider the center motif. Make sure all 3 are centered as much as possible over the hoop. After it is finished embroidering, remove the completed 12x12 piece from the hoop and sew it into the center of the completed ring just as the tutorial instructs to attach it, and at that point the project will be complete."

I hope this helps. Please let us know if you need further assistance.

I have made this two times. Both times I've had to take it apart because it didn't line up at the end. Last piece was either too big or to small. And it wouldn't lay flat. I would love some pictures or a video of exactly how to place the pieces so it will come out perfectly on the last piece.

Hi Donna. We're sorry you're having trouble. We don't have a video, but the tutorial has step-by-step information. Have you followed the tutorial carefully? She has detailed instructions and photos. I can email you the tutorial if you don't have a copy.

Vivi T.

how much fabrics do you need for this pattern

Heather B.

Thanks for the question, Vivi. You will need two sets of fabrics for this project and each set needs the following fabrics:

Set 1: 1/4 yard of 2 coordinating fabrics, 1/3 yard of third coordinating fabric
Set 2: same sizes as Set 1 fabric

I hope this helps!
