Is anyone else out there ready for spring?! We know it will come, but sometimes it seems it will never get here! Well, maybe we can at least get that springtime feeling going with this set or be ready for it when it arrives! This in-the-hoop project is fun, fast, and easy and is perfect for those who have never done an in-the-hoop project but want to give one a try. It's also an ideal project for a front door featuring a storm door which prevents a bulky arrangement.

The design set consists of 7 design files. The 4 flower files and the leaves file require a 4"x4" hoop, and the bow and banner files require a 6" x 10" hoop. The designs are done on stiffened back fabric with a rich satin edge and have an inner heavy fleece filler that gives them stability and a lush texture without the need for using templates.

Each design features eyelets that are used to connect the finished pieces with scrap-booking brads. Weaving a heavygauge wire along the back of the brad-joined pieces to maintain the shape completes the wreath, and you can make it as big or small as you like by adding on more flowers and leaves (my sample is 15 1/4"x14 1/4").

Another fun option would be to string the pieces along to make a light-hearted garland. So dig out those spring fabrics and get started chasing away those winter blues! (Sorry, Snowmen, it's time to say good-bye 'til next year!) For more inspiration, visit our PJ Designs Finish Gallery.

Can I sew Lady Bug buttons on where the eyelets are, or does it have to be done with a wire, or brads?

Hi, Janice. Thanks for the question about the Build-a-Springtime-Wreath. This project was made for you to use eyelets or brads, but I see no reason you couldn't use buttons, instead. I'd suggest skipping the step of cutting out the eyelets with an eyelet cutter or awl; then I'd attach the buttons with a hot glue gun or other strong adhesive. Please let us know if you need further question.

Hello.....my machine, Brother PE770 only goes up to the 5x7 hoop. I see above that the banner and bow both have measurements over 7 inches, but in your description, it states one needs a 5x7 hoop. How would one be able to stitch this out if the file is over 7 inches? Thank you.

Hi, Justine. Jackie (PJ Designs) who created this set has a 5x7 hoop that is a little larger than 7", so it works in her 5" x 7" hoops. We realize that not all 5" x 7" embroidery hoop work the same way, so I have corrected this page to say that it will need a 6" x 10" hoop. I'm sorry for any inconvenience on this.
