1:

For this project, use an applique design like "Dimensional Star" (KM56). Embroider the first applique mark line on removable stabilizer such as Hemingworth's Hot Soluble. Place your applique fabric, and stitch the second color stop. Then you can trim away the excess fabric outside the stitched line.

 2:

Finish stitching the applique border, but don't remove the hoop yet!

 3:

Stitch a complimentary design such as "Mini Star" (WL85) in the center of the applique star.

 4:

Cut away the excess stabilizer and, in hot water, rinse away the remainder.

 5:

Lay the piece flat to dry. Repeat steps 1-4 for the second dimensional star piece.

 6:

Use a needle and thread to secure the stars on the face or strap of the sandals. The fancy footwear is now ready to wear!
