1:
Hoop two layers of a water soluble stabilizer such as Hemingworth's Washaway Hot Water Soluble.

Embroider the design directly on the stabilizer. I prefer to use a polyester or metallic thread for this item.

When the embroidery is finished, cut away the excess stabilizer.

To dissolve the remaining stabilizer, immerse the embroidery in hot water.

Allow the embroidery to dry. You may press it flat, if you like. Use a pressing cloth to protect the thread from the iron's heat.
