Advent Calendar
This Advent Calendar consists of 25 little bags that can be filled with little gifts or sweets, making the count down to Christmas a happy and exciting experience, not only for children. The bags are free standing lace with a back of felt and are done entirely in the hoop, and no extra sewing is necessary. The 25 sachets are embroidered as follows:
1:
Sew color stops 1-4 on the water soluble material.
2:
After the fourth stop, slide a piece of felt UNDERNEATH the hoop. This felt should be big enough to cover the underside of the design. Secure the felt from above with pins, or use a temporary adhesive.

After the fifth stop, take out the hoop and cut away the felt around the design, closely to the seam. Be sure to cut the felt away from the top of the rectangle; it will become the pocket opening.

Put the hoop back on the machine and finish stitching the design -- all that's left now is the satin stitch border along the sides and bottom of the sachet.
5:
Then wash away the soluble material and let dry on a flat surface. You may also iron the finished sachet.
