Appliqued Apple Tea Towels

Appliqued Apple Tea Towels

Linen tea towels get a delicious touch of fall when you add apples!

 1:

You can either start with purchased linen tea towels or make your own.

 2:

Fold the tea towel in half, lengthwise. Mark a center point for your embroidery design 3/4 of the distance from the top to bottom, in the widthwise middle of the folded half of the towel. If the folded length of the towel is 10 inches, the design will be centered at 7.5” from the top, and 3.5” from the bottom.

 3:

Hoop the tea towel with a soft beige colored backing such as Floriani's No-Show Nylon Mesh as a stabilizer.

 4:

Embroider the design you have chosen onto the towel. We made a set of three towels, and used the following designs: Apple on Branch, right (Hdap9), Apples in Basket Applique, larger (Hdap10b), and Bowl of Apples (Hdap13).

 5:

For the applique fabric in Apples in Basket Applique, larger (Hdap10b), use a light tan colored fabric – it forms the background for the basket and the towel draped inside the basket.

 6:

For the applique fabric in Bowl of Apples (Hdap13), the applique fabric forms the basis for the bowl. Match the threads used for the last three color stops to complement the fabric you have chosen.

 7:

When the embroidery is finished, use applique scissors to trim the excess stabilizer away.

I like to know if I can buy the towels?

Hi, Connie. Thanks for the question. We don't carry those exact towels at Embroidery.com but we do carry these similiar towels, if you want to take a look and see if any of them would work for you:
