Embroidered Christmas Ball Earrings

Embroidered Christmas Ball Earrings

Christmas ball earrings are an easy, eye-catching project! In step-by-step instructions below, I'll show you how to create ornaments to wear this season.

 1:

Hoop a heavy water-soluble stabilizer such as Floriani's Wet 'n Gone.

 2:

Embroider two charm designs, such as those found in the "Christmas Charms" packs from Cornelia Dobner Creative Design, directly on stabilizer. Here, I've chosen "Ornament Christmas Lace Charm" (AE0204). I like to use a metallic thread on embroidered jewelry, for added sparkle.

 3:

Cut out the designs.

 4:

Dip the designs in a shallow bowl of water and allow the remaining stabilizer to dissolve. Let the embroidery dry.

 5:

Attach each design to an earring post. Earring posts can be found in the jewelry or beading section of most craft stores. You may need to spread the lower loop of the earring piece to accomodate the embroidered earring. For this, a pair of needle-nose pliers comes in handy.

 6:

Your embroidered ornaments now decorate all of your holiday moments.
