1:

You will need two pieces of fabric 2 1/4" wide x 7 1/2" long, and two pieces of 1 inch Bias tape or ribbon 7 1/2" long. Also useful will be coordinating sewing machine thread, an adhesive stabilizer such as Film-o-Plast, and an embroidery design no more than 5" wide by 1" high.

Take one piece of fabric and embroider a border design of your choice on it. In this example, the Autumn Leaves and Acorn Border (CD051506FB) is used.

 3:

Place your embroidered piece of fabric and plain pice of fabric on top of each other with the wrong sides together.

 4:

Pin and sew one piece of bias tape or ribbon between both layers of fabric along the 7 1/2" length of the fabric.

 5:

Repeat step 4 for the other 7 1/2" edge. This finishes both edges of the napkin ring. Turn it right side out.

 6:

Close the back, and your ring is ready for a napkin.
