The artwork for several of these letters came to us from the catalogue of a 1940s commercial monogram shop - we imagined and recreated the rest of the letters. Make two or three-letter combinations from larger and smaller scale satin stitch letters on top of the lily-of-the-valley background design - the combinations created can be sewn with one or two thread colors.
The stitch count varies from one letter to the next, between 425 - 925 stitches for the small size, and 575 and 1,475 stitches for the large size. Each letter is one color. In addition to the letters, there is an addition design of a lily-of-the valley, which is 2 5/8" wide (64mm) and has 2,289 stitches. These designs are meant to be combined in two or three letter combinations, with the lily-of-the-valley design in the background. A typical combination uses both small and large letters.
