Hi Sandra,
I'm glad you are feeling better and ready to do this fun project for your grandson.
Thanks for your question. Messages posted to this forum go directly to Embroidery.com, and we give our best answers, contacting the originator of the designs as necessary. If you would like to contact Starbird directly, we provide their email address, and that would need to be a separate message.
I checked, and this design stitches the lettering first. Specifically, it begins at the bottom of the letters, with the end of the word "season" and stitches backward and toward the top, so that "1st" stitches last of the lettering. Following "1st" the football image is stitched. So if you want to replace "1st" with "2nd", I suggest using the stitch simulator in Embrilliance Essentials (if you have that) to insert a color stop just before "1st", then remove that color stop, leaving you with an empty space where you can use your own lettering to replace it with "2nd". Save the edited design, transfer to your embroidery machine, and stitch.
Something similar can be done if you don't have editing software, by stitching the design right up to the "1st" and then skipping to the next color stop and finishing the design, leaving an empty space where the "1st" was. Then you will need to align your own "2nd" text in the blank space and stitch it before removing the embroidery from the hoop.

I'm wondering if it's possible to stitchout your 1st Football...with the '1st' being last to stitchout. I missed using this sort of design last year due to poor health. Therefore, my grandson will be onto his 2nd season in 2016 season. My husband & son are diehard football fans & we'll be leaving PA for Seattle game this year & that's why I'm doing more planning while it's still summer.
Thank you, Sandra Williamson.
I wish I knew if this goes directly to [email protected] or if my message will be forwarded to you there.
