I've used this product recently. It adheres quickly and well when pressed. The shiny side of the fusible mesh faces the wrong side of your fabric. If your hot iron touches the shiny side of the nylon mesh, it will stick to your iron, and the iron will need to be cleaned.

Hi, Karen. I believe the shiny side faces the wrong side of the fabric,Karen, as it is the side with the fusible coating. Be sure to use a pressing cloth or, as you indicated, press from the outside.

Please let me know if you need further questions.
