what do the letters following a color number mean?

What is the difference between this skein size 5 and a regular 6-strand? Is it the same, but this one just has more strands?
Hi, Mackenzie. This size 5 skein is made of a lustrous pearl cotton. It is a single strand and is used for different purposes than a standard cotton 6-strand cotton floss skein. For instance, you might use Pearl Cotton Size 5 for needlepoint, punch needle, or smocking; whereas 6-strand cotton is more commonly used in projects such as cross stitch and embroidery. I make temari balls and I mostly use DMC 5 perle cotton although I have a multitude of other threads & ribbons in assorted size & colors. I am having a problem obtaining a DMC color chart...do you have one?

I am an avid needle pointer and like to use the DMV size 5 pearl cotton. In addition to what I have in my cart, can I please order one of every color you have. In this way I can see the colors for my next project before ordering.....I think it a wise investment to make. Unless you have a sampler to sell. Please let me know.
