How can I preview my fabric and choose thread colors to match?
When you’re choosing colors for your embroidery designs, software makes it simple by letting you color the design on-screen before you stitch it out. Sometimes background fabric needs to be considered, too. Here’s how to use Embrilliance StitchArtist (or the non-saving demo) to preview your fabric and thread choices together.
Take a digital picture or scan your fabric so that it is on the same computer as your Embrilliance software.
Open your desired embroidery design in Embrilliance StitchArtist or the demo.
Make a box around the design. If you have Essentials, this can be done using “baste design” from the Edit menu. If you have Enthusiast, this can be done using “baste hoop” from the Edit menu. And of course you can also make your own box using StitchArtist tools.
Click on the color swatch for your box object.
In the window that appears, choose “Applique”
Choose “Applique Position” from the style drop-down.
Click “single image” below that
Navigate to your fabric image.
Now the fabric is shown behind your design.
Select the desired colors for the stitches by clicking on their color swatches.
