Heavenly Hibiscus Beach Ensemble

A beach bag, hat, and decoratively edged towel for when you want to hit the beach looking as heavenly as possible!

1:

Prepare a banded towel for embroidery by hooping it with a piece of Hide It Permanent Topper on top. This will keep the stitches from sinking into the terry nap.

2:

Embroider "Hibiscus Six-Flower Cluster, larger" (aiheh01) on the towel beneath the band. Repeat three times to edge the entire towel.

You may also choose to add a length of decorative fringe to the bottom of the towel, as we did.

Embroider "6 Flower Border Cluster" (aiheh01 or aiheh02) on tulle or organza fabric, using a water soluble stabilizer such as Badgemaster beneath the fabric.

5:

Carefully trim trim the fabric and stabilizer away from the embroidery. Applique scissors really help in this step.

6:

Rinse away the remaining water soluble stabilizer.

7:

Hand stitch or glue the embroidery design to a straw hat.

We also added a fuchsia colored ribbon as a hatband.

9:

For the purse, we stitched "Two Hibiscus Blooms, larger" (aiheh04) onto the front flap of a large satchel.

10:

Put sunscreen, sunglasses, and a drink into the satchel. Place the hat on your head, and drape the towel over your shoulder. You're ready to bring heavenly hibiscus to the beach.
