Using Minky and Foam together

Kari demonstrates using minky cuddle fabric with flexi foam underneath to make a really cuddly, pettable applique puppy in the Home for the Holidays curated line.

  1. Stitch the applique mark (outline)
  2. Cut a flexi foam square
  3. Tape it down covering the body, keeping the tape outside sittching area
  4. Stitch the tack-down, and peel away the paper tape
  5. Use Kimberbell duck bill scissors to trim the foam close to the stitched line
  6. Place Kimberbell Cuddle fabric with the nap going down (pet it)
  7. Lay a square of washaway stabilizer over the top
  8. Tape in place with paper tape
  9. Stitch the tack down
  10. Trim the cuddle and washaway right next to the tackdown
  11. Finish stitching the outside of the design
  12. Pull out the washaway stabilizer, and you can rise it out for 20 seconds in cool water
