Terry Cloth Towel Embroidery
To get embroidery onto a towel, some will do the embroidery, cut it out, and carefully hand stitch it to the final item. There is another way, and it doesn't involve terry cloth loops showing through your fill and satin stitch areas, or large squares of cut away backing on the underside. This technique shows you how to: embroider directly on your finished item, apply a water soluble topping to keep the terrycloth loops from poking through, and use a tear away-wash away stabilizer for the back.
1:
Hoop terry cloth with tearaway -- washaway stabilizer on bottom and water-soluble topping on top.
2:
Embroider your design directly on the water-soluble topping.
3:
Trim any excess jump stitches or thread tails. Tear excess water soluble topping away. Tear away excess bottom stabilizer.
4:
For smaller areas within loops of letters, use the Embroiderer's Wand to remove topping.
5:
Lightly spray any remaining topping with warm water. It will dissolve. Let dry.
6:
That's how we achieve beautiful embroidery on terry cloth. In this case, it's personalized embroidery on towels!
