Butterfly Pattern of the Month / Live - Black Swallowtail, Dec. 2015

 

Stoney Creek's popular Pattern of the Month begins a new three part series with the December 2015 design "Live ~ Black Swallowtail."

We stitched the design by itself on 28ct Vintage Blue Whisper Cashel and framed it in a 6" x 6" black frame, and also stitched all three designs together displayed as a banner using a 5" Butterfly Fabric Holder and framed in a 6" x 15" black frame. Stitch count for "Live ~ Black Swallowtail" is 61w x 61h, approximately 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" on 14ct.  DMC colors in "Live ~ Black Swallowtail" are B5200, 310,317, 318, 413, 414, 415, 471, 472, 580, 721, 741, 742, 743, 744, 762, 935, 976, 996, 3799 and 3823. Specialty threads used are Weeks Dye Works 4129 Swampwater (2 skeins if stitching whole series) (DMC sub 3021) and Glissen Gloss Rainbow Blending Threads 403 Iridescent Pastel Yellow, 640 Iridescent Apricot, 810 Orange, 900 Multi-Black (2 cards if stitching whole series).  The design is embellished (optional) with two handmade glitter ladybug buttons.
