Why don't the embroidery design colors match the online photo?

For accurate thread colors, it is intended that you follow the design production sheet or accompanying PDF file of instructions. When you load the design into your own software or machine, the design may not be rendered in colors that match the images on embroidery.com or the design's accompanying production sheet.

Although stitch data is compatible between the various formats, the thread and color data (pallet) is not. Some formats are incapable of storing color information altogether. Other formats may have their color and thread data rendered differently among various software and machines.

Embroidery.com provides a wide variety of embroidery machine formats that are either supplied by the design vendor or converted to additional formats as needed. Embroidery Central does not set the color pallets or thread brands within each individual file format. Therefore, it is not uncommon to open an embroidery file in your software where the colors don't look quite right.

No worries -- following the design production sheet at Embroidery.com is easy and will result in beautifully color matched embroidery.

Hi, Cathleen. Thanks for the question.

The "S" references Sulky thread. (For a list of commonly used thread brands at Embroidery.com, you can visit the following page: https://www.embroidery.com/help.ec?docid=2767).

Please let me know if I can help you further.

Hi, Inez. The "R" references Robison Anton Thread. If you need a thread comparison chart, you can check on the following website:
