I'm sorry, Jenny, but the Snap Hoop Monster is not recommended for the VE2200. It does look similiar to the VE2300, but the VE2200 is not listed one DIME's latest compatibility chart, which is pretty accurate. Sorry about that.

Brother now sells a V-Series Upgrade SAVRVUGK1 kit for the VE2200. It increases the embroidery field to 8"x12". Today your website @embroidery.com lists the DIME Snap-Hoop Monster LM5 (7"x12" SHOOA5M UPC:852622003712) as compatible with the Brother DreamMaker XE VE2200. Perhaps the DIME chart needs another update, as at least this one Snap-Hoop Monster is compatible. I suspect there are other sizes that are also compatible. Perhaps, with the V-Series upgrade to a Brother VE2200, even the 8" x8" and 8"x12" Snap-Hoop Monsters would work. And by the way, the DIME compatibility chart that is posted on many websites including this one, is illegible as posted. It desperately needs a strong zoom capability. It would also help if there were a date on the chart, as obviously there are several versions out there. Maybe there is a date but I can't find it in all those tiny figures.

I actually have a strong personal desire to have an answer on the compatibility of the 8"x12" and 8"x8" Snap-Hoop Monster frames for a Brother VE2200 with the upgrade listed above. If you can't find an answer, do you have any suggestions for where else I could look? Does DIME have a customer service contact? Maybe Google (or I) was having a bad day, but I couldn't find a website for them. The Brother upgrade kit includes Brother frames in those sizes, but the Snap-Hoop Monsters are much easier on arthritic hands and hold quilt layers better, according to my sister. She says they are definitely worth the money.

Yes, you can do light projects such as freestanding lace with the Snap Hoop Monster, Carol. For freestanding lace, we recommend two sheets of washaway, especially when doing larger designs.

Hi, Amy. MANY Brother machines are compatible with the Snap Hoop Monster (see chart above). Yes, DIME does continue to add new hoops for machines, including Brother machines. As a caveat, do be aware that older, out of date, machines are unlikely to have hoops added.

Hi Eileen, for the Topaz 40, use the HM1 120X120 hoop, same as for the Topaz 50.
I'm afraid there isn't a Monster Hoop that works for the Janome 11000. The product developers siad it is because the weight of the monster hoop unbalances given the position of the hoop attachment on the Janome. At this time, it isn't possible.

Hi Gladys,

I own a Snap Hoop Monster and have used it for three years. It feels very solid to use. The bottom hoop is actually made of metal. The top hoop is the plastic part and has a strong magnet embedded in it. As far as I can tell, the magnet is all the way around, and the hold is very firm.

If there was one that could be described cheap, it would have been an earlier version of the magnetic hoop. I have one of those too, and although it does work, I just about never use it because the Monster hoop meets all my needs.

Thanks for looking into this, Kirsten! I also was able to get a bit more information on this, and from what I hear it's about 50/50 for plastic versus metal, and is expected to last a lifetime.

"It is made of ABS plastic... [which] is one of the most common used plastics in the industry."

I was also told that they are a well-selling product and they have not yet had complaints about the plastic.

Based on a quick google search, it appears to be pretty durable. Feel free to research more into this, as well.

I have also been trying to find the correct magnetic hoop for my Brother NS2750D. I have reached out to DIME directly but got contradictory info.
Since the Brother PE700, PE770, PE 800 and SE1900 ALL use the 5x7 Brother hoop model SA444 and the LM6 Monster Hoop is compatible with those machines, it seems logical that the LM6 would also fit Brother NS2750D.

I have read this hoop is not able to sew all the way to the edges as it reads it as the large oval in the Bernina Hoops. Is this correct ? I also read it DOES goes all the way to the edge, which IS the advantage of this hoop. I want to be sure before I shell any more $$$$ ! Thanks in advance for your reply.
