Can I re-size my design?

Most designs can be resized within 20% of its original size using customizing software. If you do not have customizing software we recommend contacting the vendor of the design to see if they can resize the design. Vendor contact information on Embroidery.com can be found beneath the design when viewing it online.

Most of the embroidery formats on our web site are stitch files and are not scalable by the majority of embroidery sizing programs. We recommend Embrilliance Essentials for changing the size of these designs. See the related FAQ.

Some designs are available in the following scalable formats as well: Wilcom (EMB), Melco Dos Condensed (CND)

These formats are outline files and can be re-sized with the applicable software. Be aware that there are limitations to embroidery and scaling a design should be done with caution. Large changes in size require changes in pull compensation, underlay, or even sewing order. All of these changes should be done by a qualified digitizer.

I have a design from anitagoodesign for use with lana thread. I now lhave about 20 spools of lana thread but am unable to find embroidery designs to use with this lana thread. I s there any formula for using regular embroidery designs and re formatting

Hi Betty, Great question! There isn't a set formula, but designs created for lana generally have 1/3 the stitches that standard designs do. The thread is so thick that less stitches are required to fill an area in. If you want to use this thread on other designs, I suggest reducing density by 1/3 and testing the various parts of a design.
Here are some designs I was able to find that are made for thicker threads:

I think that's all we carry that is especially for wool. Here is another source:

And here's more information on getting great results with wool thread:

I don't know if I'm in the right section or not but I'm currently working on a design called Sandy Creek. When it gets to the bottom right side of the "A" and the last "E", it trims. The problem is where it leaves off and starts the next letter, my thread is coming undone. Like the bobbin isn't working but it is. We have a lock stick on the end and that isn't working. Sometimes it will be tight and after I remove the backing it will be lose and starting to come unlocked. Or it will be tight when it trims the "E" and after it sews the "K" it loosens up the thread of the "E".

I am using Customizer software with my Janome machine. The pattern uses a 6x10 hoop, which I have. I cannot transfer the design for a memo board to my USB stick because a message comes up saying "the stitch exceeds the layout size limits". I don't understand what the problem is or how to fix it. I would really appreciate any help you can give me. I am using the Get It Together designs.

Hi Louise. The designs in your account, "Get it Together", should fit in your sewing area; however, maybe the designs need to be re-centered. I'm going to email you a file. Let me know if you can read it and I'll re-send you the rest. Hopefully that does the trick. If not, please let me know.

I did email you back, but thought I'd write you here, too. I could read the design you sent me just fine. Thank you.
