How do I convert embroidery formats?

If you have an embroidery design that your machine cannot read because the format is incorrect, you can convert it to another embroidery format -- one that your machine can use. To do this, you need embroidery software on your computer.

To convert embroidery formats in Embrilliance Essentials software:

  1. Open your embroidery design.
  2. Make any changes needed.
  3. Click the disk icon or from the file menu and choose "save as".
  4. This opens the saving window so you can choose your saving location (which folder or drive to save to).
  5. Change the file name if you wish to.
  6. At the bottom is a dropdown list of formats.
  7. Select the format you would like to convert to.
  8. Click save.

I’m having difficulty getting my designs from my computer to my BrotherPE 800 machine usingmy USB stick . The computer shows that the design is on the stick but when I put it into the machine, it’s not there!

When I check the format files, some show PES ( which I always select for my Brother machine )and some show

BE - which I have no clue what that even means. Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi Gail, thanks for your question. the PE files aren't working files for embrilliance that allow you to edit designs. You don't need those for your embroidery machine, so you could safely not transfer those.

You have p e s files that aren't displaying, the most common reason for that is that they are too large.

Hello, I have a Janome embroidery machine and haven't used it for a couple of years now. The problem is I can't remember how to convert a jpeg file into a jan or jef file. I'm using Janome Digitizer Jr and Janome Memory Craft 350E machine. Can someone please help me with this? Thanks, Karen

I LOVE Embrilliance Essentials! It is a wonderful product. They also have a digitizing software but I haven’t wanted to get into that yet. But u can do a lot of things in Embrilliance. They have a small free version of it too. Can’t do as many things with it but u can get a feel for it. LOVE IT!

Hi, Benedicto. If you want to purchase Janome brand software, you would need to contact a Janome dealer directly. However, I believe the 230e takes designs by USB; if so, we can also recommend Embrilliance Essentials:
