Witchy Stitchy Challenge 2021

Let's get Witchy Stitchy!!!
Can you believe this will be our 3rd Witchy Stitchy Challenge? I am so excited for you all to participate in this year's challenge. As we all know, getting and staying motivated to stitch can sometime be a very real struggle. No matter how much we love stitching, it can be hard to "find the time" as sometime the chaos in life just interferes with our stitching mojo. I believe that by participating in our challenges we can help each other to get and stay motivated to stitch.
Witchy Stitchy Challenge 2021 will start the 1st of October and goes through midnight October 31st.

Requirements
-
You must stitch at least 30 minutes every day.
-
To stay accountable, you will post a beginning and ending picture of your WIP every day to our Embroidery.com Cross Stitch & Hand Embroidery Facebook Group. If you are not on Facebook, you can email the pictures to [email protected].
-
When posting your accountability pictures, please include the day of the challenge, the name of designer and name of the pattern you are working on, along with #WitchyStitchy2021.
-
You can work on any needlework project you like. This includes but is not limited to cross stitch, needlepoint, basic embroidery, punch needle and hardanger. As long as it includes needle, fabric and floss it will qualify.
-
You can stitch on one project or many throughout the month-- it's up to you.
We want you to stitch and post every day; however, we know that life happens. So you can miss four days of Accountability Posts and still qualify for the Witchy Stitchy Challenge 2021 Trophy.
Something new that we added last year was Donnett's Tricks, which I thought were super fun.
Donnett's Tricks 2021
- What is something that needlework has taught you? Write it up and post it along with one of your Accountablity Posts. (For me it is that perfection is not the goal and that mistakes are OK, sometimes even a good thing. They are what makes my piece different and uniquely mine.)
- Take a piece from your "finished stitching stash" and get it framed. Or completed, however it is you want to complete it. (Be that into a bellpull, pillow, pin cushion, wall hanging, etc.). Post a before and after picture once it is framed.
- Post a picture of your very favorite project that you have ever stitched along with note as to why it is your favorite and what it means to you.
- Try something that scares you-- stitch with a Specialty Fiber such as Hand Dyed Floss, Glow in the Dark Floss, Whisper Thread, Artic Rays, Metallic Thread, Suede, Silk Thread, etc.
- Halloween is on a Sunday October 31st, so I am making that a MANDATORY stitch day.
The only one of Donnett's Tricks that you have to do is the Mandatory Stitchy Day on Halloween-- the rest are all optional.
Now, let's get many stitchers to join our Witchy Stitch Challenge 2021 so SHARE, SHARE AND SHARE the Witchy Stitchy Challenge 2021. Post it to your own Facebook page and INVITE, INVITE AND INVITE all of your stitching friends to join us for this year's challenge.
You know my goal for these challenges is to motivate stitchers to take some "me" time to sit, stitch and relax. I know we often take our stitching and the mental health benefits that it gives us for granted. Now, more then ever, we need the peace and quiet that stitching bring us.
At the completion of the challenge, we all will have our stitching bug all revved up for our holiday stitching. For all the stitchers who stitch & post at least 27 of the 31 days, you will receive a custom exclusive trophy. The trophy is a token that you can keep to help you stay motivated throughout the end of the year.
Don't forget to join me every Thursday at 7pm MST for our LIVE Sit N Stitch & Show N Tell on our Embroidery.com Cross Stitch & Hand Embroidery Facebook Page & YouTube Channel. We talk about whatever is on my mind, along with some Tip or Technique or a Product Demo. Then, of course, is the Show N Tell part, where I show off what all of our amazing stitchers have been working on by touring our Facebook Group and checking out all of their WIP pics that have been posted during that week.
Now, go shout to the world "Let's get Witchy Stitchy" and get our stitching mojo all pumped up for the rest of 2021!!
Happy Stitching -- Donnett
