Embroidery.com does NOT offer designs in paper tape or cassette format. These formats are both older methods. You will likely need to upgrade your machine or find a transfer method of your own, since fewer and fewer design companies are offering these dated options. |

I have a Bernina 770 QE. Does it take the .exp? I have seen other forums stating that I can also use .pes? Is that correct?
Thanks so much!
Yes, the 770 manual says it can read .dst, .exp, .jef, .pcs, .pec, .pes, .sew, .xxx
Hi, Lisanne,
Thank you for your input!

Hi, Deb,
Thanks for your question. According to my sources, your machine will take .exp. However, I don't think that it will take .pes formats. I hope this helps!

hi what format do I need for a Silver Viscount H43Bx?
Thank you...
We're sorry but we can't find information on that, Sadiyya. I even browsed through your manual to see if it was listed there but I could not find it. I would recommend contacting your dealer or the manufacturer directly for that info.

Hi, Heather.
My first time here. I noticed an earlier question re. Janome MC 400C. I have an MB4 and have had the same problem - saving .JEF pattern to USB but when inserting USB in machine, pattern does not come up. Am I missing a step?
Fay
There's no additional step that I'm aware of, Fay, except you may want to check with your manufacturer to see if there is any specifications I'm not aware of (for instance, your machine may not read a USB stick larger than a specific size). Otherwise, so long as you have the file in .JEF and it fits your maximum sewing area of 9.45" x 7.87", we would expect the patterns to come up.

Hello heather,
I have a Viking Designer 1. Everything says to use a .SHV format, but none of the software that I have found handles .SHV. Any ideas? I'm on a Windows 10 PC and the Viking has only a 3.5" floppy. I have the cheap version of Embrilliance and I also downloaded Premier+. None show .SHV. Help, please.
Hi, Diane. Do you have the really old version of the Designer 1 that takes a floppy or the newer version that takes a CD or possibly flash drive?

Hi, I am new to this I am trying to create my small business logo using a brother PE535 every time I create a .pes file the machine says cannot read file. Any suggestions
Hi, Joe. What software are you using to create the .PES file of your small business logo?
~Heather
info@embroidery.com
I figured it out.
Thumb drive had to be formatted as fat32.
What weight thread should I use for jackets
Glad you figured that out, Joe. What fabric are your jackets made of? For instance, what you use on a denim jacket will differ from what you use on a lightweight rayon jacket.

what format does a Ricoma MT use? I am not seeing anything for Ricoma.
Hi Robyn,
According to this web site: https://www.ricoma.us/product/en/mt-series-(sing...
Ricoma uses DST and DSB formats. Of the two, DST is the most available.
Thanks for posing the question!
I have a Janome MC400E and can not get designs loaded to my machine with the USB drive. I don’t see anything on this model #, someone told me it was because I purchased it off the internet. Can you please help? I love the mac
Hi, Carol. Thanks for the question. To send a file to your USB drive from your computer, you can simply right click on a file on your computer and choose "send to". Then select your USB drive. The should transfer over within a few seconds. You can then eject the USB drive and read the file on your machine. A couple of important things to note: do make sure your designs are no larger than 7.9" x 7.9" as I see that is your machine's maximum sewing area. Also, be sure to use a format your machine can read, such as .JEF. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

I have a Baby Lock Destiny which uses a PES file format. But the 3D nativity Scene pack I bought does not have that format on the disk. which other format is usable on the Baby Lock Destiny? Thanks much!
Hi, Debby. PES format is the format I'd recommend for you. In a pinch, you might be able to use DST or EXP. You might want to double check the disk; however. I just checked the master disk for the 3D Nativity Scene and it does include the PES format.
