Sewing Arcs & Circles with the Sewing Revolution

Sewing Arcs & Circles with the Sewing Revolution

The Sewing Revolution® will help find the central pivot point when sewing an arc or circle around a particular design (i.e. embroidery, lace motif or applique) using a circular sewing attachment with your sewing machine. Most sewing machine companies have a circular sewing attachment available as an optional extra.

 1:

To create an arc between two points, begin with the two end points of the arc you wish to make. Here we have two finished embroidery designs and would like to stitch an arc between them.

 2:

Place one of the circles on your Sewing Revolution® over the two points you wish to arc. Here you see the first arc point over one design.

 3:

Here you see the second arc point over the other. We use a different arc point from the same circle for each end of our arc.

 4:

The Sewing Revolution's center hole now allows you to easily mark the center point of the selected arc on your fabric with water soluable pen.

 5:

Begin to fit your circular sewing attachment.

 6:

Place the pin of the circular sewing attachment through the central pivot point that you marked on your fabric. Push it through from the back.

 7:

Place the top fitting of the circular sewing attachment over the pin.

 8:

Now you are ready to sew your arc!
