Holiday Place Card or Business Card Holders

Holiday Place Card or Business Card Holders

This is an in-the-hoop project. For a festive touch at the dinner table, position the place card in front of each setting indicating where your guest is to sit.

 1:

Use designs “Place Card (Flowers)” (Z03270) and “Place Card (Bells)” (Z03269) by Artistic Embroidery. Each is a two part design, made up of a front and a back design to be run separately and cut out. You need a 5” x 7” sewing area to stitch these designs.

 2:

Hoop your choice of colored fabric. Run the main design (the one with the oval on it and the layout line).

 3:

When that part of the embroidery is completed, cut out the rectangle and inside the oval.

 4:

Fold along the notch mark and press or iron along the fold. This is not exactly folded in half as the edge that is finished will be shorter, thus leaving an opening to slide a card in once completed.

 5:

Hoop a thin tear-away backing by itself, and embroider the second program design file. It will do an outline first. Then the machine will stop.

 6:

When machine stops, place the first folded embroidery, with the edge opening at the top, over the indicated outlined space, using a light adhesive spray for stability.

 7:

Restart the machine to complete the (second) embroidery design file.

 8:

Tear off the embroidery from the backing and clean up any stray threads.

 9:

Fold in half and press or iron to maintain the fold. You can insert a cardboard for more rigidity.

 10:

Insert a business card or a name card so that the writing appears in the oval opening. Voila! For a festive touch at the dinner table, position the place card in front of each setting indicating where your guest is to sit.
