This technqique explains how to use a tear-away sticky stabilizer such as Film-o-Plast to stabilize odd-shaped or delicate items for embroidery.

1:

Hoop adhesive stabilizer paper side up. Any additional stabilizer goes below it.

2:

Using a pin, score the paper within the hoop in a shape and size adequate for your project.

3:

Tear the scored area of paper away to reveal the sticky surface.

4:

Carefully place the item to be embroidered within the hoop. Press securely against the sticky surface.

5:

After the embroidery is finished, tear or cut away the excess stabilizer.

6:

This method allows us to finish the project without hoop burn or wrinkles on a sensitive fabric.
