Hello I have a Brother SE625 and a Brother SE630. I do not see them on this list. What format would they take? Could I use a avg file???

Hi Adrienne,

Great question! I have noticed that this list is comprised of mostly older machines. I wonder if the employee who created this did so because there tends to be a dearth of information about those machines online. In any case, you can find more information about your specific machines at the links below. In general however, .pes is the recommended file type for Brother machines.

Unfortunately, .svg files can't be read by embroidery machines. If you have an image that you would like to have turned into an embroidery file, you will need to have it digitized either by purchasing a digitizing software yourself or reaching out to a company to do it for you. I hope this information helps! Please let me know if you have any further questions, and have a great day!

How would I make my own pattern for a family crest/signature??

Leah W.

Hi Adrienne,

This is a great question! There are a couple of options available to you.

  1. If you want to learn how to create patterns yourself, you can purchase a software such as StitchArtist by Embrilliance. For the kind of project you are looking at, I would recommend either level 2 or 3.
  2. If you already have a crest and would like an easy simple way to get it as an embroidery file for your machine, you will want to have it digitized. We recommend Universal Digitizing for this kind of a job.

I hope this information is helpful to you. Please let me know if you have any further questions, and have a great day!

Hi Louise,

The Bernita 535 web site states that you can use:

EXP, DST, PES, PEC, JEF, PCS, SEW, XXX

I'd recommend PES for color.

Charlene C.

I have a brother pe 770 embroidery machine what files will it read and how do I make a picture into that file.

Please Login to comment on this post.

Kirsten S.

Hi Charlene,

The Brother Pe770 will read the PES format, and possibly DST also. The best way for a beginner to make a picture into that file format is to hire an embroidery digitizer to do the job. To take a flat picture and translate it to 3-d stitch information for your machine is a multi-stage process that really requires specialized knowledge. We suggest Universal Digitizing, if you don't know a local embroidery digtizer. https://www.embroidery.com/UniversalDigitizing

There are software programs that you could buy that would help you make your own pictures into embroidery yourself; they do require quite a learning curve, and many many embroiderers never do this, but always hire the work out instead.

What an amazing feature to this amazing website! I have a Brother NQ3600D purchased 1/7/22. Do I need to use a "PES new version" digital file or a "PES old version"?

Please Login to comment on this post.

Kirsten S.

Hi.Ellen,.thank you for.your comment.

Your NQ3600D can read either one. Older PES is.more versatile, and that it can be read by many machines, Newer PES has more features.

Can you use Ricoma software on a Barudan machine?

Hello Miriam,

I can only say that Ricoma supports the DST format, which Barudan machines should be able to read. I suggest you contact Ricoma support for a more full answer to this question. Here's the address:

Hi ladymo1950,

Thanks for reaching out to embroidery.com! Yes, the Pfaff Creative 4.5 does use the VP3 format. But it can read multiple formats, such as the VP3, VIP, HUS and etc. If you want to see all the formats that this machine can use, you can look at the information for this machine on our website. Here is a link to the information page for the Pfaff Creative 4.5. https://www.embroidery.com/pfaff-creative-4-point-... Please let us know if you have any other questions. Have a good day!

We're sorry but we can't find information on that, Sadiyya. I even browsed through your manual to see if it was listed there but I could not find it. I would recommend contacting your dealer or the manufacturer directly for that info.

Hi, Heather.

My first time here. I noticed an earlier question re. Janome MC 400C. I have an MB4 and have had the same problem - saving .JEF pattern to USB but when inserting USB in machine, pattern does not come up. Am I missing a step?

Fay

Please Login to comment on this post.

Heather B.

There's no additional step that I'm aware of, Fay, except you may want to check with your manufacturer to see if there is any specifications I'm not aware of (for instance, your machine may not read a USB stick larger than a specific size). Otherwise, so long as you have the file in .JEF and it fits your maximum sewing area of 9.45" x 7.87", we would expect the patterns to come up.

Hello heather,

I have a Viking Designer 1. Everything says to use a .SHV format, but none of the software that I have found handles .SHV. Any ideas? I'm on a Windows 10 PC and the Viking has only a 3.5" floppy. I have the cheap version of Embrilliance and I also downloaded Premier+. None show .SHV. Help, please.

Hi, Diane. Do you have the really old version of the Designer 1 that takes a floppy or the newer version that takes a CD or possibly flash drive?

Hi, Joe. What software are you using to create the .PES file of your small business logo?

I figured it out.

Thumb drive had to be formatted as fat32.

What weight thread should I use for jackets

Glad you figured that out, Joe. What fabric are your jackets made of? For instance, what you use on a denim jacket will differ from what you use on a lightweight rayon jacket.

I have a CamFiveEmb Model HT1502. Can you tell me what file types are compatible with my machine?

Hi, Rachel. Thanks for the question. According to the CamFiveEmb website, the HT1502 can read the following:

EMB, DST, DSB, DSZ Among many more standard design formats

At Embroidery.com, you'll commonly see the DST format available.

Hi Jacqueline,

The Topaz can accept the following formats: .SHV, .DHV, .VP3, .VIP, .HUS, .PEC, .PES, .PCS, .XXX, .SEW, .JEF, .EXP, .DST
You can have designs digitized in .DST, and your machine can read them.
