Hi hi Cindy, that's a good question. Because you place the sticky stabilizer on the back of your hoop, that's what glides along the machine bed and that protects the machine bed so it doesn't get scratched up.

Thanks, but it's just thin paper. It seems it would burnish the screen bed, or get it sticky, or something. I realize the sticky side is not against the machine, but how thick is the paper, does it wear through easily?
Kirsten S.
It's a slick paper, and does not wear through easily. It will easily last as long as it takes to stitch everything you can on the one sheet of sticky stabilizer. Additionally, Each time you replace the sticky stabilizer in order to stitch more designs, you're advised to just stick the next paper on over the back of the last one, adding another layer. This continues until you feel there's too much on there, and then remove the layers and start over.

Ok, thanks Kirsten. :-) Now I can't decide which size to buy. I rarely embroider so I don't know which size I would use most frequently. I've bought several monster hoops already but have tension issues so I've been waiting till I can spend some time in class (after vaccine!) I'm thinking just get the middle size? I hope I didn't miss the free shipping special.

Middle size sounds like a good place to start. Good luck!

Is the machine bed going to get scratched up without foam on the back of the hoop?
