How is Essentials' Remove Hidden Stitches used?

Confused about the Remove Hidden Stitches tool in Embrilliance Essentials? Here’s how it works, with a quick video demonstration included.

When you use Embrilliance Essentials to combine two embroidery designs, it automatically removes overlapped stitches. The overlapped stitches are removed only in the stitch file, but you can preview what will be removed in the working file by clicking the red scissors icon. The working file retains the memory of the stitch information so that you can make edits to the design placement, later on.

Remove hidden stitches is an automatic feature of Embrilliance Essentials. To preview the removed stitch areas before saving, use the icon showing red thread and scissors.

Although it is an automatic feature, you can turn Remove Hidden Stitches off! In the Edit menu, select preferences. In the preferences window, un-check the two boxes "remove overlaps when saving stitch files" and/or "treat objects labelled as 'applique pos' as filled."

When you have StitchArtist and Essentials both enabled in your Embrilliance platform, you can use Remove Hidden Stitches on your own created designs. The trick is to make the overlapping objects into separate designs rather than separate objects.
