Will magnetic hoops harm my machine?

We've all been taught that magnets and computers don't mix. And now our embroidery and sewing machines and phones are all computers. Does that mean that magnetic embroidery hoops could harm your embroidery machine? In this video Eileen Roche explains and demonstrates why the Monster magnetic hoop is safe.

Highlights:

  • Embroidery machines have tiny, well-insulated computer brains.
  • When magnetic hoops are closed, all the magnetism is bound up between the two hoops.

But what about when you are rehooping, and the top part of the hoop is moved around close to the machine.

Hi Pauline, great question. That's where the well-insulated computer brains feature comes into play. The designers of the Monster hoops work closely with machine manufacturers to make sure they work together and don't damage one another.

Eileen Roche (the inventor) herself routinely flips the top magnetic hoop up over the stitching arm of the machine while adjusting the hoop at the machine (when the hoop is large enough to do that with).
