Thank you for reaching out with your question. It looks like on Bernina's 640 page, it says that the machine has a USB port. This means that you could possibly stitch a design with the machine that you get from some where else. All you will need is a USB stick that is formatted for your machine and a design to test it out with. Feel free to try testing it out with one of our free designs (which should be updated by Friday 1/5). I hope this information helps! I have this machine and am very happy with it. I also have the embroidery module. I don’t use it a massive amount but wonder if there’s a way I can import my own designs onto it? I have a Mac laptop.
