Summer, from the Hemingworth Seasons Collection, includes 32 spools of high luster, 40 wt polyselect, 1000 meter embroidery thread in an attractive storage box. Summer contains our most vibrant, bright colors. Summer gets you ready for the beach with sunny yellows, warm tans, and cool blues. We've included two shades of red, white & blue, as well as metallic silver and copper, for Independence Day projects. Five eye-popping neon spools complete the summer fun. Summer comes in a plastic-coated, white cardboard box with a magnetic closure clip. Spools sit in individual cardboard compartments for easy access. The inside cover has a color picture of each thread spool, indicating which space to store the spool. The box is both attractive and convenient for permanent storage.

Each Hemingworth thread spool comes with the spool, cap and stopper system and contains 1000 meters of 40 wt, polyselect, high-sheen embroidery thread. This amazing thread is 100% colorfast, soft and supple, with superb stitching results. Hemingworth thread is known for its durability and strength, as well as its brilliant luster. It is suitable for home and commercial embroidery machines, sewing machines and quilting machines. Hi Lisa,

It's often helpful to buy a machine from the most local source of service and information for that machine. There are many brands of machines available, and there are comparable machines in each line, so it's likely that you'll be able to get the features you need in any number of brands and models.

If you have a local Janome dealer, you might look into Janome machines, for example. But if the Bernina shop is closer and offers more support, you might be more interested in a Bernina. For a beginner, I would suggest a "home", (single needle) model, since their price point is lower than the multi-needle machines, and the learning curve is usually not as steep with those machines.

General advice is to go for the largest sewing area you can afford, but not everyone actually wants to do large embroidery, so that may or may not apply to your needs.

In order for us to assist you the most, it will be helpful to find out what you want to do in embroidery. Some of the things that people use their machines for include: patches, custom logos, cute designs on gifts for family members, home-based business, quilt labels, quilting, applique, i.a.
