I bought this pattern and would love to make it. Was wondering where I can get the material to make the beard? The gray is very nicew looking.

Hi, Doreen. We don't have fabric available for PJ Designs (or other designers') patterns. Jackie from PJ designs has said in the past that she gets her fabrics from her large stash of fabrics, so is not able to give specific fabric source information. You should be able to find a satisfactory fabric at any fabric store of your choice.

I have a Janome 11000. Are the pieces of this project such that I could divide them and make them with my machine? My hoop sizes are Square 8x8, Rectangular 5.5X8 and Macro 8X11.
Would really love to make this project.
Thanks

I just read your comment on the Crescent Santa design, I also have the 11000 with all the hoops. did you have trouble lining up the design in the Macro 8X11? I just can not seem to get things lined up, because of removing the hoop for trimming the excess fabric. Is there a trick to doing it? I would love to hear how you made out. If you can email me at [email protected].
Thanks Ann Simon

Hi, Geneva. Thanks for the question. The holly designs can be done in your smallest (5.5x8) hoop. The smaller Crescent Santa could be done in your Macro 8x11 hoop. I'm sorry but the larger Crescent Santa will not work in the hoops you listed.

Heather, Thank you for the reply. Just to make sure I understand you correctly, the Janome macro hoop (which requires that the designs are in smaller files and then lined up in the software and then the hoop position adjusted on the slider) will work for the smaller design. Right?

Thanks for the followup, Geneva. To clarify: you would need a hoop that would be able to embroidery a file as big as 5.90" w x 10.20" h in one hooping. Does that make sense?
Thanks,
~Heather

I made him the other day and he is gorgeous. Can't wait to hang him up. So easy to make

Just finished him today. By far the most ambitious project I've ever attempted, but the instructions were wonderful. So often, I've found that instructions for in the hoop projects are written assuming a certain level of knowledge, but these don't! Every step is clearly explained and photographed, and the idea of putting the components for each segment into a page protector is a necessary one!
I used a bag making batting and it was very stable and firm enough when complete to not need a stick to hold Santa rigid.
Thank you! A stunning project.
