Centuries ago, carved turnip lanterns lit a warning on Hallow's Eve. New world pumpkins soon took the lantern job, and this Halloween Jack O'Greeter is here to adorn your home. Decidedly more cheery than his forebears, Jack O'Greeter is the perfect jack-o'lantern for front door hanging. It's a new, totally in-the-hoop project, made with just five design files.

Jack O'Greeter stands tall at 11" x 18 1/2", but he's no bean pole. Dense fleece batting and fusible interfacing fill him out between front and back fabrics. Embroidered ornaments twinkle just like the harvest moon and stars of the autumn sky.

As you stitch the rich satins and whimsical accents, each piece is joined to the next in the hoop, and embellishments are welcomed. Hanging from a loop through the top eyelet, Jack O'Greeter turns none away! For inspiration, visit PJ Designs Finish Gallery.

Thank you for the reply Kirsten. I think i will do that for my next one. I used decor bond on the backing pieces, but i think maybe a little lighter interfacing on the top fabrics would be better for stability. Do you have a facebook page?

Thanks for checking! We don't change the sizes on the designs, but if you have the software then you can size it down on your own. We recommend that you don't size it down more then 10 to 15%, since it's applique. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Have a great day!

Hi, Mary. Two of these designs are just a little over 6" x 10". Try measuring your hoop to see its actual size. If the actual embroidery area is larger than 6" x 10", you should be able to embroider them. They need about 10 1/4" inches of room at the largest.

Alternately, if you have sizing software, you could size these designs down a little. Just be sure to size all five designs down equally, so that the proportions are right.

Hi, Pamela. Yes, you can size it down if needed. You will need to make sure to size down all pieces PROPORTIONALLY, though (i.e., size all designs down by 5%). Also, we recommend sizing down no more than 10 to 15% percent.

Thanks for writing. Kirsten's response is correct as regards formats.

Regarding getting the designs on disks, you have two options:

1) We are currently offering the designs on multi-format disk plus six Hemingworth threads for the sale price of $29.99 (plus shipping):

2) We can put any designs on disk for a $10.00 fee if you will contact us ((435) 755-0486 or [email protected]). This disk comes in the embroidery format of your choice.

When you order a design at Embroidery.com, you do get all the available formats. There are some cases where a particular format cannot be offered, but we strive to offer as many formats as possible. Your license to download them is saved in your account's "My Designs" area, and then you get to select which particular formats you would like to download at this time. If you decide later that you need a different format, you return to your "My Designs" area and download that, at no extra charge.
