Hoop It Up - The Stitching Sisters Guide to Hooping

Hoop T-shirts, Koozies, Hat Brims and more!

Hooping an item correctly is an important beginning step to getting a professionally embroidered design. But with the many different items to embroider and the variety of hoops available, knowing which hoop to use and how to hoop any given item can be challenging.

In Hoop It Up, the Stitching Sisters, Eileen Roche and Marie Zinno, take the confusion out of hooping. They've pooled their years of embroidery experience to share their best practices for embroidering over 30 popular items.

First Eileen and Marie will explain the different approaches to hooping--the tried and true standard hoop, the user-friendly magnetic hoop, the on-the-edge border hoop, and the sticky stabilizer route. You'll also learn about a variety of embroidery tools, like the Angle Finder and Hoop Guard, which can make the task of hooping so much easier and more accurate.

Next you'll learn step by step how to hoop over 30 items, both flat and tubular. From napkins, bibs, and blankets to baby onesies, T-shirts, and hats, you'll see how to plan the embroidery for each item and how to control the variables to ensure success.

Take the confusion and frustration out of hooping with Hoop It Up!

You'll also discover 99 Tips for Success spread throughout the book that will save you time and prevent frustration!

Bonus!
Inside the 80 page book you'll find six embroidery positioning tools you can use again and again!

  • Angle Finder
  • 4" Target Ruler (two versions)
  • 7" Target Ruler (two versions)
  • Target Stickers

"The methods and techniques you'll find in Hoop It Up are techniques that we use in our studios every day. They work for us, and we're confident they'll work for you, too." --Eileen Roche

Hello, the ad above states free shipping on all US orders, however, when I go to check out, my only shipping options are first class and priority mail, no free shipping option. I removed the book from my cart, logged out and logged back in and added book back to my cart, and still got no free shipping option. I did this 3 times. Can you confirm if there is free shipping on not on US orders, please? I am in Tennessee. Thanks, Bev

Hi, LINDA. Thanks for the question. The techniques used in the "Hoop It Up (Instructional Book)", as well as the bonus positioning tools that come with it, can be used with any embroidery machine, so yes, they would be recommended for use with a Husqvarna Viking Epic.

In the photos above, what are the things that have the target stickers on them that lay on your hooped item?

It appears in the photo to the right of the other 2 photos?

Thanks,

Judy

I believe they are some kind of koozie, Judy, which is one of the techniques addressed in this book.

This book sounds interesting. Does the information and helps in the book make a difference on the machine that is used and also the hoops that go with it? Or is it a universal help book? I do find it a great challenge to hoop towels and I try to stick with the ones that are not too heavy yet are a worthwhile towel. My hoop has popped apart many times before I am finished and oh, the let down feeling of wasted time and towel! But with a prayer and perseverance it has always worked to rehoop and finish the project. Keeping it hooped before starting the embroidery is the biggest challenge.

Hi Pat, I find towels on home machines challenging too. Before I got a Magna Hoop Monster, I always "floated" towels, something I'm sure you will find in this book. Floating is a great method for many things. I can also recommend the Magna Hoop Monster. It doesn't come apart for love or money. ;)

Hi, Pat. Thanks for the question. No, the book is not specific to a particular brand or embroidery machine. I hope if you decide to purchase that it helps with your stitching problems!
