Santa Chimney Mug

You can embroider these Christmas design on regular cardstock and snap it right into the convenient clear mug for instant Christmas wassail drinking.

 1:

You'll need cardstock cut to 10 x 3.5". Hoop a tear away stabilizer in your hoop and lay the cardstock over it. Use an embroidery-safe spray adhesive or else a loop of Scotch tape to place the cardstock within the hoop. Make sure the tape is outside of your embroidery area. Plan to place designs near each side of the paper.

 2:

Use the embroidery design "Santa & Chimney" (SANTA) by Embroidery Central, and "Holly & Candles #1" (CH391) by Stitchitize. These outline/light density designs are perfect for embroidering on typical cardstock or cover weight papers.

 3:

Center designs 1.75" from the top, 2.5" from the respective sides. This placement allows you to put the seam of the paper on the handle side of the mug, while centering the designs on the front and back of the mug.

 4:

Depending on the orientation of your hooped paper, you may need to rotate your designs 90 degrees, as shown.

 5:

Both of your designs may not fit in one hooping. If that's the case, stitch one, cut it out (I don't recommend tearing on paper embroidery, even though the stabilizer is of a tear away variety.), re-hoop and place the paper for the next embroidery.

 6:

Clip off any stray threads, and insert the paper into the mug. Tape the side seam if desired.

 7:

Replace the machine needle before moving onto another project. Stitching paper will have dulled your needle.

 8:

Snap the insert into the mug. It's watertight so you can pour, sip, and wash without hassle.
