Penguin Mug

Kiwi paper is perfect for embroidering designs of normal density, like these festive penguins, so you can easily make them warm up the acrylic snap mug with their antics.

 1:

You'll need kiwi paper cut to 10 x 3.5".

 2:

Hoop a tear away stabilizer in your hoop and lay the kiwi over it. Use an embroidery-safe spray adhesive, embroidery tape, or else a loop of Scotch tape to place the kiwi within the hoop. Make sure the tape is outside of your embroidery area.

 3:

Center two designs 1.75" from the sides, and the third in the middle of the paper. Depending on the orientation of your hooped paper, you may need to rotate your designs 90 degrees, as shown.

 4:

All three of your designs may not fit in one hooping. If that's the case, stitch as many as do fit, and tear the stabilizer away.

 5:

Re-hoop and place the kiwi for the next embroidery.

 6:

Embroider the remaining design(s).

 7:

After embroidery, tear the stabilizer away.

 8:

Clip off any stray threads, and insert the paper into the mug. Tape the side seam if desired.

 9:

Change your needle before the next project: paper stitching makes needles dull!
