al!l), join us for this weekly open forum class.
Each month we'll pick a topic
from viewer submissions to demonstrate in Generations. Have a technique

Many techniques are
transferrable to other embroidery programs, so please feel free to join
us and watch as we discover how to turn our ideas into embroidery.
Recorded Sessions: 1/29/2009 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM - Mountain Time
Class Name: Celebration
Instructor:Patty O’Neill
Category:Quilting
Procedure:Quilt Assembly
Topic: Precision Sewing [NO MORE PAPER PIECING]
I chose "Celebration" as the class name for many reasons. Having quilted for a long time,
I have learned all of the procedures that result in a finished product. Some of the procedures never came easy for me.
I have always tried to find a better way to work on quilt assembly. I love precision and because of that, I have had
many days of ripping out seams trying to make points meet. That frustration led me to develop a procedure that I call
"No More Paper Piecing". Not having to pick out paper any more when quilting is cause for celebration, therefore the
name of this class. I am using birthdays as a topic for the first project because this is the
"birth" of an entirely
new approach [paper free] to creating different types of quilt patterns. Many of us have had embroidery machines for
years and we have used them for all of our basic embroidery needs. I believe that this new technique will introduce
you to an entirely new way to use your embroidery machine.
In this class we will be using various designs including Birthday Cake, Birthday gift boxes, Borders, Flying Geese,
and Labels. I will be using a video to demonstrate the actual stitch-out step by step. .
At the end of this class, my designs will be available through Embroidery.com under my vendor name, Porcupine Point
Designs. In addition there will be a pattern developed by Dennie Sullivan for the assembly of the finished product.
Dennie has been a well known quilting teacher in Arizona for more than twenty years. She is a member of Agave Quilters,
the Arizona Quilt Guild and the American Quilting Society (AQS).
Join us in our Basics Cross-Stitch EClass. We will go over basic cross-stitch techniques and help with common mistakes.
In our EClass we will cover the different kinds of cross-stitch fabrics and how to stitch on them. Also we will go over all of the basic cross-stitches, tips on stitching with metallic thread and using beads in your stitching.
Feel free to email Donnett at donnett@embroidery.com with suggestion of what you would like us to cover in the class.
Today's cross-stitch is not your grandmother's cross-stitch, with only a few blocky colors and a lot of topstitching! Embroidery.com offers the finest in cross-stitch-- beautiful, colorful patterns that you'll love to stitch and will be proud to display!
Recorded Sessions: 3/12/2009 from 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM - Mountain Time 2/18/2009 from 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM - Mountain Time
This free class will provide a quick overview of creating a design using the powerful digitizing features of Generations (about 20 minutes). We will then proceed through the steps of digitizing, editing, and monogramming in more detail (about 30 minutes). Options for learning digitizing in more depth will be discussed, including an overview of digitizing E-class series, Digitise-Wise correspondence course, and 60-Days Hands-on with Generations (about 20 minutes).
Although the class will be using Generations Digitizing software, many digitizing programs have similar features. Even if you don't have Generations, you are invited to join us. We are confident you will pick up some knowledge that will enhance your digitizing ability, regardless of what software you are using.

Most blank items to embroider are flat, and if you want to create something stuffed, you usually wind up sewing it yourself. The Embroidery Bear is different. It's fully constructed -- you don't even need to put in a seam -- yet it's easy to embroider.
