Ramona Baird
Ramona has been doing commercial and home embroidery for over 10 years. She began as home-based and quickly grew to a retail location creating custom embroidered gifts for consumers, team gear, logo wear for small businesses, as well as contract embroidery for a uniform store and a fire department.
"The one thing I remember most, is no one helped me when I began", Ramona states. "The local commercial world is not eager to share knowledge because many are afraid you will take business away from them. I had to literally spend thousands of dollars traveling to trade shows, taking mastery level classes from some of the nation’s best embroidery and software educators to learn my new craft."
"I didn’t know what I didn’t know. When I started teaching, I made a promise to shorten the learning curve for those excited to enter the world of embroidery and software. I share all the shortcuts, techniques, and ideas I have to help eliminate the trial-and-error approach for the consumer."
"I had the pleasure of starting the journey of educating others in embroidery and software when Lindee Goodall hired me at Cactus Punch. She mentored my skills and allowed me the freedom to dream, create, design, and teach! "
"It excites me when you can see a student’s eyes light up when that little click goes off in their head and things come together for them."
Ramona was Project Coordinator for Cactus Punch (while under the ownership of Lindee Goodall), has worked for a local Bernina sewing machine dealer, has had articles published in "Designs in Machine Embroidery", and is now an independent educator.
